HLPartnership brings together a wealth of industry experience at all levels of the business, with an Executive Team of experts in their fields, so we have the business acumen and professional track-record to enjoy a strong presence within the Financial Services Industry and great relationships with our Provider Partners, which translates into a fantastic intermediary proposition.
Chief Executive Officer
Christopher joined HLPartnership (HLP) as CEO in 2008, having acquired the business from Money Supermarket on behalf of a group of investors back in 2006. Since then, HLP has enjoyed consistent growth year-on-year, in addition to being recognised in a number of Industry Awards.
Prior to joining HLP, Christopher was with a Pan-European Financial Services business, his initial remit being to develop their UK based mortgage broking operation. Latterly, he headed up the launch of the group’s first Lender (Seniors Money, Spain), offering the first UK style Lifetime Mortgage to Spanish residents.
Christopher’s career in Financial Services began some 25 years ago, working with major insurance companies including Guardian Royal Exchange, Scottish Amicable and Allied Dunbar.
Gavin joined the HLPartnership Executive Team in July, 2016, having built a wealth of experience operating in senior management functions at some of the UK’s leading distributors, including Mortgage Force, LSL’s Pink Network and the Sesame Bankhall Group.
Gavin’s career in financial services commenced in 1987 when he assisted Halifax mortgage customers by advising on their range of products. Gavin moved into his first management role in 1994 looking after the operations at a new build specialist brokerage and he then moved into networking, supporting broker firms, in 2000. An increase in regulatory focussed responsibilities followed with the implementation of regulation in the sector in 2004 and Gavin has worked closely with the FSA and FCA ever since.
Gavin is able to apply his knowledge to develop systems and controls that enable Partners to feel safe in their regulated business. Gavin comments: “In this age of ever changing regulation and with new threats from emerging risks, I am focused on supporting HLPartnership and all of its Partner firms to stay safe in business, through the development of procedures and controls in the most fair and pragmatic way possible. I care about good customer outcomes and work with Partners to help them achieve the best service possible to their clients.”
Neil Hoare has worked in Financial Services since 1985 and has enjoyed roles in Insurance, Investments & Pensions and Mortgages. Senior Management roles at NFU Mutual, Santander, Pink Home Loans, Select & Protect and, most recently, Personal Touch Financial Services have given him a wide knowledge of the strong relationships enjoyed between advisors and the clients. His career extends across manufacture and distribution, mutual and plc, and retail and intermediary advice channels. This has allowed Neil to work closely with all aspects of the financial services industry to create and deliver product and service propositions that ultimately lead to good consumer outcomes.
HLPartnership welcomed Martin to the network in 2015, tasked with ensuring the Network achieves its goals through the provision of exemplary service to our member partners.
Martin came to HLPartnership after four years with innovative lender Castle Trust, where he lead their distribution proposition. Prior to Castle Trust, Martin held a number of senior positions with Kensington and Legal and General, amongst others. Martin’s wide ranging knowledge of the financial services industry, and expertise in helping grow forward-thinking businesses further strengthens our Executive Team .
Martin comments: “It’s an exciting time for HLP and its members as both grow in an intermediary led mortgage market and to have the chance to play a pivotal role in that growth is an opportunity I could not turn down. Helping deliver the Network’s investment in innovative technology, which creates greater efficiencies for members and an enhanced service for customers, will ensure that HLP continues to grow. As our Lender and Insurance partners place ever greater reliance on the intermediary in terms of quality, high on my priority list is to ensure HLP carries on delivering both the tools and knowledge to keep our members delivering good outcomes both for the customer and our business partners alike.”
